Rancho’s aviation magnet program recently got a big boost from Allegiant Air, the Las Vegas-based airline, which donated to Rancho thousands of pounds of aircraft parts, worth more than $400,000. Allegiant will also award two $5,000 scholarships this year to seniors who plan to pursue post-secondary education in an accredited aviation program.

The national nonprofit supports the dreams of talented young women by providing funding, mentorship and other resources. It has partnered with Allied Esports, Harman International Industries and HyperX to bring women gamers from across the country to Las Vegas for a behind-the-scenes look at how esports tournaments are produced.
The nonprofit Get Outdoors Nevada, funded by various local governmental entities and businesses, hosts scores of volunteer activities like these each year to help connect locals and visitors — nerds and non-nerds alike — with outdoor spaces in Southern Nevada.
