A second Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon to sprint onto Las Vegas Strip

Just before runners in this year’s annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon take off from their marks Nov. 17 for the autumn event, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has approved $150,000 in funding for a separate spring edition, to be held in April 2021.

Workers honored for extinguishing fire at Convention Center

Quick-thinking workers who helped put out a fire last summer at the Las Vegas Convention Center were commended for their actions at the Nov. 12 board of directors meeting of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

A video captured by security cameras on July 22 at the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center was played for attendees. It depicted employees from Teamsters Local 631 and Freeman convention management rushing to action during the load-out of the Association of Woodworking & Furnishing Suppliers show, when a machine filled with woodchips caught fire.
