D Las Vegas aids local youth hockey program

The D Las Vegas put its charitable instincts on ice — literally — when the hotel’s owner, Derek Stevens, presented a $100,000 check recently to the Lil’ Knights Cross-Ice Program before a recent Vegas Golden Knights Game at T-Mobile Arena.

The donation will assist the year-round, introductory hockey program for children ages 4 and older, who are taught the fundamentals and team elements of ice hockey. So far, the program boasts 1,307 players.

At the Jan. 21 pre-game ceremony, Stevens, in a custom-made Vegas Golden Knights jacket and alongside his wife, Nicole Parthum, presented the giant check to Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz.
