Exhibit illuminates 1960s Las Vegas
Rewind the calendar to the 20th century’s swinging-est decade in the world’s swinging-est city and you get Las Vegas Lineup — The 1960s, the new, second edition of the popular exhibit, now on display at the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, 309 S. Valley View Blvd.
Featuring new, unidentified photos from the collections of the Las Vegas News Bureau (which also operates Las Vegas Newswire) and the museum, the exhibit is a potpourri of images from that memorable era in Vegas that have never before been seen by the public.
Running through Nov. 27, Las Vegas Lineup encourages visitors to help identify residents, visitors and unidentified celebrities in the photos by submitting their guesses and suggestions in a locked ballot box. The initial Las Vegas Lineup exhibit resulted in dozens of positive identifications.
So travel back to Vegas’ ring-a-ding Rat Pack era, and do a little photo-sleuthing to help heighten our knowledge of our one-of-a-kind town.
