Hit the ‘paws’ button and visit Park MGM’s new pet boutique

If you’ve ever longed to outfit your beloved pooch in a tie-dyed T-shirt or fancy rain jacket — and who hasn’t? — Park MGM has the perfect new place for you.

The Las Vegas Strip property has opened a boutique especially for puppy people and their four-legged pals, just in time for the dog days of summer. (Also in time for monsoon season in Southern Nevada; those rain jackets could come in handy.)

Park MGM Pets, now open at The Sixth Space inside Park MGM, features a carefully “cur”-ated selection of pet accessories and goodies for your best friend, including comfy dog beds, chew toys, and shampoo and conditioner by eco-friendly pet-product producer Harry Barker. Among the items on offer for human companions: dog-themed pajamas, hats and socks, along with the world’s most elegant doggie-poop bag dispenser (so you can scoop in style).

Inside, pet owners can even order adorable custom artwork, created by artist Oliver Gal, that stars their very own pooch.

“Here at Park MGM, we’ve seen an increase in the number of guests traveling with their canines and love that we can continue to cater to our guests’ needs by offering a dog-friendly program,” according to Patrick Fisher, Park MGM’s vice president of hotel operations. “We always want our visitors to feel like our resort is their home away from home and that they can enjoy a relaxing vacation in Las Vegas with their favorite companions.

“Park MGM Pets provides a retail experience for both animal lovers and furry friends alike,” said Fisher. “From toys and treats to outfits and animal-themed art, the boutique is filled with both functional and fun products.”

The new shop serves as a complement to Park MGM’s other dog-friendly efforts. Fido is welcome to stay in the hotel with his human for an extra $75 a night, and will receive a special welcome package that includes an all-natural treat, waste bag and information about the property’s “Doggie Butler” services.

What exactly are “doggie butler” services, you ask? Well, they include having a hotel staffer check in on your pet while you’re attending a meeting or grabbing a cocktail, or taking Fido for a walk and a visit to Dog Bark Avenue, the “doggie relief area” just past the valet booth.

Four-legged guests also have access to the “Bark Bites” menu that features cooked-to-order culinary delights such as ground beef and barley, steamed chicken and rice, and, for the more health-conscious canine, egg white scramble with steamed veggies.

Heck, maybe they should have called it Bark MGM.

All of this is enough to leave the cat lovers among us feeling left out. But we needn’t totally despair. Spotted on a shelf in Park MGM Pets on a recent weekday morning: a black hat emblazoned in gold with the words “Cat Lady.”

Park MGM Pets is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended hours on select evenings to coincide with events at nearby T-Mobile Arena and Park Theater. For more information, call (702) 730-7067 or visit https://parkmgm.mgmresorts.com/en/amenities/the-sixth-space.html.
