Las Vegas to welcome massive IPW 2020 to town
The fifth time will definitely be a charm in 2020 when Las Vegas will once again play host to IPW (International Pow Wow), the travel industry’s most important international marketplace.
With its arrival, we can also expect record-breaking attendance by more than 6,000 buyers and nearly 500 media representatives at the May 30 through June 3 event, during which travel industry conventioneers will be introduced to a plethora of new amenities, including world-class attractions, entertainment, convention and meeting complexes, sports facilities and new culinary establishments.
Among the parade of highlights will be one in particular: the showcasing of the $375 million, 550,000-square-foot Caesars Forum Conference Center, featuring 300,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a 100,000-square-foot outdoor plaza and the world’s two largest pillarless ballrooms.
“We work proactively around the globe to attract visitors to Nevada and we know that what the international tourism industry sees during IPW will make them want to visit again and again and tell their clients and customers to do the same,” said Nevada Lt. Gov. Kate Marshall in a statement.
In fact, Las Vegas stands out as a vital destination for international travelers, who account for 20 percent of annual visitation and 23 percent of overall visitor spending. When IPW last visited Las Vegas in 2013, it brought 6,400 attendees to town, generating an $8 million economic impact.
“Las Vegas is a huge draw for international visitors and this is a phenomenal opportunity to showcase all that the city has to offer,” said U.S. Travel President and CEO Roger Dow, in a statement. “There is always something new and exciting in this remarkable destination.”
Added Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority: “IPW represents a tremendous opportunity to interact with the top industry visionaries and decision makers to elevate Las Vegas on an international scale. Las Vegas is rapidly evolving with impressive development and innovation which will solidify our position as the top U.S. travel destination.”
