Local businesses connect with agencies for new opportunities

Small business owners came together to capitalize on new opportunities at the eighth annual Committed To Our Business Community networking event Aug. 22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Hosted by the Clark County Regional Business Development Agency Council — and highlighted by a keynote address by Nevada Lt. Gov. Kate Marshall — the event was designed for local suppliers, small business owners and entrepreneurs seeking to gain resources and network with local government, hospitality and corporate agencies in Las Vegas.

Marshall’s keynote topic was “Let Them Hear You Roar: How to Find and Free Your Unique Voice and Use It.” A panel discussion centering on tips for small businesses was moderated by Kathleen Taylor, who represented the Nevada Women’s Business Center. Panelists were: Guy Martin, president of Martin-Harris Construction; Kenyatta Lewis, executive director of supplier diversity  and sustainable procurement for MGM Resorts International; and Kerry Bubolz, president of the Vegas Golden Knights.
