‘Mondays Dark’ hitting milestone

Celebrity-driven philanthropic showcase Mondays Dark will mark its fifth anniversary on Dec. 17 with a celebration at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino.

The twice-monthly variety show that benefits local nonprofit organizations was founded in 2013 by ex-Rock of Ages star and Vegas Golden Knights announcer Mark Shunock. The shows are staged at The Space arts complex at 3460 Cavaretta Court.

“In 2019, we’ll hit the $1 million mark in funds raised, and this is something our team is extremely proud of.” – Mark Shunock

“I love our year-end celebration which brings all of our partners together, as well as our new ones for next year — 42 local groups celebrating each other under one roof. It’s a cool party,” Shunock says.  “In 2019, we’ll hit the $1 million mark in funds raised, and this is something our team is extremely proud of.”

In 2018, the Mondays Dark lineup of beneficiary organizations was a long one, including:  WHY Ranch/White Horse Youth Ranch Foundation; St. Jude’s Ranch for Children; the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; Miracle Flights; Baby’s Bounty; the Tyler Robinson Foundation; HELP of Southern Nevada; New Vista; Positively Arts Foundation; Speedway Children’s Charities; Forgotten Not Gone; Cure 4 the Kids Foundation; Sin City Sisters of the Perpetual Indulgence; Leaders in Training; Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada; Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter; Office Down; Adam’s Place; Yellow Pants Project; Children’s Heart Foundation; and Las Vegas Firefighter Youth Hockey.

At the gala, Las Vegas entertainers (still to be announced) will appear; there will be a live and silent auction with art, show and concert tickets, dining packages, spa treatments and jewelry as prizes; and the 21 nonprofit beneficiaries for 2019 will be announced. Tickets are $20, $30 and $40 per person and can be purchased by visiting MondaysDark.com.
