Neon Museum welcomes Elvis star to promenade
At the Neon Museum recently, Elvis Presley’s star was installed on its Electric Promenade Donor’s Walk, which connects the La Concha Visitors Center to the Neon Museum Boneyard.
Donated by the Viva Las Vegas Elvis Presley Fan Club, the star had originally been part of the Las Vegas Walk of Stars in front of the now-demolished Riviera Hotel. When the Riviera’s sidewalk portion of the star walk was dismantled in 2015, the Viva Las Vegas Club received the five-pointed Presley marker, which had been slightly damaged. While a new replacement version was installed on the Walk, club members voted to donate the original to the Neon Museum.
Imprinted on the star is this inscription: “Elvis Presley — A Legendary Performer/Singer/Actor/Humanitarian.”
