Bally’s illusionist Xavier Mortimer is donating $1,000 to the nonprofit Opportunity Village in celebration of his 1000th show back in January. On Feb. 14, we get a three-fer: It’s Valentine’s Day. It’s the anniversary of the Valentine’s Day Massacre. And, not coincidentally to that, it’s the eighth anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, aka The Mob Museum, (300 Stewart Ave.) In celebration, Nevada residents will get free admission (and non-residents get a buy-one-get-one free) on that day, during which the museum will host a car show featuring Prohibition-era vehicles (which you can sit in and take pics with!) as well as a display of crime scene evidence from Chicago’s infamous mob-land slaughter in 1929. Signaling the start of the big racing weekend, the NASCAR Hauler Parade, featuring drivers’ haulers zipping up the Strip, kicks off at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20. … And finally, the Luxor’s Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition has added or welcomed 108 new artifacts from the famous shipwreck, including 20 that have never been seen before that have been carefully preserved since being recovered from the ocean floor.
