Yet another benchmark — quite literally — has been reached by House of Blues legend Carlos Santana. The guitar impresario recently unveiled the third in a series of five unique benches created for a Habitat for Humanity community art project in Henderson.

The collaboration between the rock icon and the nonprofit organization began last year as an outgrowth from the fifth anniversary celebration of Santana’s headlining shows at the House of Blues. In honor of that milestone, two local men, woodworker Kerm Sablan and artist Justin Lepper, began teaming on the benches, which will be within Habitat’s construction project of homes in Henderson’s Pittman neighborhood.

The latest bench, titled “Peace,” will join the first two, “Love” and “Music,” at Henderson City Hall until they are placed at Pittman next year.

The soulful, spiritually-minded rocker returns to House of Blues at Mandalay Bay for performances of his showcase, An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live, Nov. 3-4, 7 and 9-11. Tickets can be purchased by visiting or calling 800-745-3000.
