Wynn Resorts to aid women’s shelter

Wynn Las Vegas has committed up to $1.5 million to assist The Shade Tree, the nonprofit Las Vegas shelter that assists homeless and abused women and children.

Working with local construction and trade companies, the Wynn’s design/development team will provide upgrades to The Shade Tree’s facilities, including the kitchen, resident bathrooms and intake room. Additionally, Wynn will offer pro bono consultation to the shelter regarding food safety, security, engineering and marketing.

“When taking the difficult first step towards rebuilding their lives, thousands of women rely on The Shade Tree to take that step with them,” said Maurice Wooden, president of Wynn Las Vegas, in a statement. “We hope that this effort will help The Shade Tree continue its mission of paving the road back to safety for those who turn to them in a time of need.”
